About Stephen Wormald

Hey there! I'm a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida, and have expertise in reinforcement learning, inverse reinforcement learning, explainable artificial intelligence, and deploying machine learning on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Dr. Damon Woodard is my advisor at the Florida Institute for National Security (FINS), though I'm pursuing applications of machine learning processing datasets related to biotechnology.

Check out my Resource Topics for specific projects!

What's My Why?: Life is precious, and I believe we should democratize the ability to research increase health-span and longevity. My current research is focused on expediting information processing on local deployments of machine learning (like FPGAs that can sit on your workbench) so that you and your teams can process biological datasets significantly faster (10X-100X). Long-term, I'd like to apply real-time machine learning to 3D printed microfluids so that individual researchers can harness state-of-the-art technology to advance the field of longevity.

When not delving into technical pursuits, I enjoy creating things.
